Several Awards, Scholarships and Fellowships are available to colorectal trainees and younger surgeons. These include:
- International Council of Coloproctology Travel Scholarship - this is a US$3000 award to support attendance of a colorectal trainee to the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons Annual Meeting (details from Graham Newstead on grahamnewstead@sydneycolorectal.com.au)
- Killingback Prize - this is awarded by the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery RACS for the best podium presentation by a surgical trainee or younger surgeon at the RACS ASC - travel, accommodation and registration to the following year's American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery Annual Meeting including presentation of the paper (details from Prof Michael Solomon on msolomon@med.usyd.edu.au)
- Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGPI) Fellowship - this is an all expenses paid travel to the Annual Meeting of the ACPGBI together with site visits to other colorectal units - awarded by the CSSANZ Training Board in Colon and Rectal Surgery (details from Prof Michael Solomon on msolomon@med.usyd.edu.au)
- Notaras Scholarship - this is a 3 year scholarship specifically for colorectal trainees who wish to pursue a career in academic colorectal surgery - it involves at least one year of full time research and one year in an overseas colorectal unit (details from Prof Michael Solomon on msolomon@med.usyd.edu.au)
